Mr.Arijit Ghosh

"Mr. Arijit Ghosh is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at SVPISTM. With a teaching experience close to 10 years, he brings in his expertise in Communicative English and Business Communication to the classroom in the best way possible. He has also been associated with Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) as an Academic Counselor for the last 3 years. He has a Masters Degree in English Language and Literature, with a specialization on Indian English Literature. He also holds a 120-hour TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) degree, which exposes him to teach English globally. His areas of interest include British Literature, Contemporary World Literature, English Language Teaching (ELT) and Linguistics. He has presented 4 research papers in both national and international seminars, out of which one was an ICSSR - ERC sponsored Multidisciplinary Conference. He has 5 publications and 1 book chapter to his credit. He has also edited and proofread research papers which came out from Springer and Taylor & Francis. He is actively upgrading himself by participating in different Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), MOOCs and other online courses that best suit his professional career. He completed an online course on ""Changing Englishes: An Online Course for Teachers"", offered by York St John University, UK, and developed with funding from the British Council in 2025. He was selected by the U.S. Embassy (New Delhi) to participate in an Online Professional English Network (OPEN) Program Course for Summer 2025 term. It was a 64-hour course on ""Professional Development for Teacher Trainers"", which he successfully completed from Arizona State University (ASU), USA in 2025. This program was sponsored by the US Department of State, with funding provided by the US Government and administered by FHI 360. He was again selected by the US Embassy in December 2025 for participating in a course from OPEN for Winter 2026 term, in which he is pursuing a course on ""Contemporary Trends in English Language Teaching (ELT)"" from Delaware University, USA. He also got selected by the Regional English Language Office (RELO), U.S. Embassy, New Delhi and the U.S. Consulate General, Chennai to participate in a five-day synchronous virtual workshop, ""AI in the English Language Classroom: From Prompt to Practice: Exploring AI Tools for English Teachers"", delivered in partnership with the TESOL International Association (Virginia, USA). He also participated in an NEP Orientation & Sensitization Programme under Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme (MMTTP of UGC) organized by Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh and secured a grade of A+ in November, 2025. He organized a Masterclass on Business Communication for the 1st year MBA students in association with the U.S. Consulate General, Chennai on December 18, 2025. He is also an accomplished lyricist, working with some of the reputed celebrity singers from West Bengal, and having almost 25 original works to his credit. One of his songs won two accolades for being the best Regional Song in the Devotional Category in India in the 4th edition of Clef Music Awards, held in Mumbai in September, 2024. "
